St Botolph’s Church & Cemetery

A historic church preserved for future generations

St Botolph’s Church, Botolphs, has been accepted into the Churches Conservation Trust’s portfolio of churches. This means that it has ceased to be a parish church and a committee has been formed to help run and manage St Botolph’s. Similar to a Friends group, the committee works alongside the Churches Conservation Trust to support and promote this important historic building.

The church remains licensed for Christian worship and continues to serve the local community. The Churches Conservation Trust manages the church building and its contents, while the Three Bs Parish continues to own and manage the churchyard, including all graves and boundary walls. Marriages and funerals may still take place through the incumbent, although baptisms can no longer be held at St Botolph’s. The new arrangement will help raise the profile of the church and attract more visitors to this unique part of the South Downs.
