Steyning is nestled into the South Downs and close to Brighton, Worthing and Horsham, with easy access by road and, buses from Worthing, Brighton and Horsham. As with many small country towns Steyning does not have a direct railway link and the nearest station is in Shoreham-by-Sea 5.5 miles away.
By Train
The closest train station to Steyning is Shoreham-by-Sea, approximately 5.5 miles away. From London Victoria, direct trains to Shoreham-by-Sea take around 1 hour and 15 minutes. If traveling from London Bridge, change at East Croydon for Shoreham-by-Sea. Shoreham station offers good taxi and bus services for easy access to Steyning.
By Car
Steyning is on the A283 which is off the A27 (Eastbourne to Southampton) or the A24 (Worthing to London) and is well signposted.
By Bus
Steyning is served by several bus routes connecting it to nearby areas:
- Route 100: Operates between Horsham and Burgess Hill, passing through Storrington, Steyning, and Henfield.
- Route 106: Connects Worthing and Steyning via North Lancing, also serving Henfield.
- Route 2A: Runs between Brighton, Hove, Shoreham-by-Sea, and Steyning.

Parking
Steyning has 3 car parks. One car park is situated in the High Street and is limited to 2 hours and the other two, limited to 4 hours, are within 3 minutes walk of the High Street and both are well signposted.
